Describing Photographs

  1. The first image pictures a woman climbing a silver ladder to clothing lines. The clothing lines are actually electrical lines and it takes place in a field. In the background there is an almost transparent rainbow. The woman has short blonde hair, a baby blue dress, and a woven basket in her arms as she reaches upward to the clothes. In the distance you can see birds flying in a "V" shape, and a red house or barn. There is a pile of clothes on the ground in the grass. The image is very creative and the viewer mainly focuses on the tall ladder and the woman climbing it. The colors used are mostly earth tones.
     2. The second image shows a man in a green canoe or kayak. The water he is on turns into glass             shards as it gets closer to the foreground. The man has one paddle and in the cracks of the glass           shards there is brown soil with dead, decomposing fish. The horizon is made up of trees and the           sky is cloudy. The man in the image looks confused or distressed toward the changing of the               water.

     3. The third image looks as if it is filtered in Sepia due to the orange-ish, yellow-ish tones. A                    blonde boy in a grey and white striped t-shirt appears to be punching himself in the face, but                his face looks more like a whoopee cushion or type of cushion with a fist going into it. It could            be expressing self hatred or someone taking anger out on themselves. The image has a gloomy            or dark message behind it I believe because of the anger it possesses and gives off. It makes                the viewer feel concerned or sad.

     4. The fourth image is very cloudy and gloomy. The skies are grey and the water is dark as a man           paints a tree across the water. The only thing about the man is that he is becoming the painting             himself. The man is standing on the rock and until up to his elbows, he becomes part of the                 canvas. There is a box of paints next to his feet and he is wearing brown shoes, black jeans, and           a denim shirt. This image makes me feel sad because of how gloomy it is. The color tones are             almost black and white.

     5. The fifth image is of a biker who reaches a "cliff". It is in a grassy area with a paved road. The             bike is propped up as the biker looks over the steep edge. This image makes me curious as to               how they made it look so realistic. It makes me feel adventurous because of the situation the               biker is in. The biker is blonde with sunglasses on his head instead of a helmet. He is wearing             blue jeans and a grey muscle shirt.

     6. The sixth image is of a man in very large boots, holding the laces as if they were the reigns on a           horse. The background is a sunrise and you can see shoe prints in the soil behind the shoes.                 One shoe is lifted as if it was taking a step. The shoes are brown boots and it seems to be in a               desert yet swampy area because of the puddles in the shoe prints. There are rings in the dirt like           crop circles. This image makes me feel nostalgic because of the old woman who lived in a                   shoe. I believe this image's purpose was to be light-hearted because of the light shining through           the clouds.

     7. The seventh and final image is half above land and half under water. There is a fish and his fin             is above water and actually a town. There are trees above the water and a red house where the             fish's dorsel fin should be. The fish is silver-ish with rusty tones and he appears to be in a hole             under the water. This image makes me feel tired for some reason. This reason is probably                     because of the colors used. There is more darker and grey colors than light and I feel like if it               was brighter I would feel more enthused.
